Summary: Over twenty years of diversified experience, Including Switchgear Operator/Mechanic, as well as six years as an Electrician’s Mate in the U.S.Navy, advancing to E-6, with training in Nuclear Power Plant Operations and Maintenance.

Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of 1300 and 1500 KW diesel generators and 440 volts electrical distribution systems, including motor controllers and electrical plant control panel operation. Superior technical knowledge and abilities evidenced in rapid advancement to positions overseeing operation and maintenance functions. Skilled supervisor with highly developed organizational skills in overseeing/directing equipment upkeep, repair and personnel training/qualification. Scale Technician: Troubleshoot and repair truck scales,  and floor scales. To ascertain the problem and fix it by changing the program or manually adjusting the load cells.

01/ 2015  to  09/ 2015   Chesapeake Services Portsmouth VA

Maintenance Supervisor and Technician : Troubleshoot and repair all equipment located on a industrial laundry environment. Preventive maintenance done on air compressors, boilers, and various washers and dryers. Maintenance and repaired tunnel washers, ironers, conveyors, spreader feeder and folders. Rebuilt and repaired bundle machines. In charge of finding and ordering parts for all equipment.

Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic : Troubleshoot and repair all equipment in an industrial laundry environment. Did preventive maintenance on all conveyors, air compressors and dryers. Responsible for all lighting inside and outside of the building. Was given responsibility of 12 Tye machines, 8 mini folders,thermal spread machine, and all lighting inside and outside the building. Converted exterior lighting to LED lighting.

Maintenance Mechanic: Troubleshoot and repair all facilities and industrial equipment related to the cutting of foam and rubber. Included in this is cutters, slitters, presses and dies. Troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic problems and preventive maintenance. Maintenance Mechanic: Troubleshoot and repair of gear boxes, pumps, motors injection molding equipment and control systems. Contract work to industrial companies, which included fabrication, welding and installation of new equipment. Also troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipment ,such as convection heating ovens, canning and printing presses. Helped to repair and maintain boiler and HVAC systems . Routine preventive maintenance done on this equipment.

11/1992 to 11/2003 Siemens Automotive Newport News, VA

Maintenance Repair: Troubleshooting and repair of all equipment involved in an industrial plant, including, installation of new equipment, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical ,hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the entire complex. Troubleshot and repaired automated systems (i.e. conveyor systems and assembly machines) that used Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s. Extensive work on pick and place units and extrusion systems, with emphasis on injection molding.  Also worked on maintaining boiler systems, HVAC systems and water analysis of various systems in the plant. Performed all preventive maintenance on equipment in the plant. Trained on Bahmuller CNC grinders in Germany, both operations and maintenance.

11/1991 to 11/1992 Johnson Control World Services Kwajalein, Marshall Islands

Switchgear Operator Mechanic: Operator and maintain continuous power supply plant to meet critical power requirements for government facilities. Responsibilities included: Operation maintenance of nine Cooper-Bessemer diesel engines including servicing and preventive maintenance. Operation maintenance of nine 1500 KW diesel generators by control panel

Supervisor, Electrical Division Work Center Responsible for directing and coordinating performance of preventive and corrective maintenance of Electrical and Interior Communication Branch, including supervision of 21 personnel. Responsibilities Included: Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of ship’s 440 Volt electrical distribution System, main engine motor controllers, electric plant control panel, crane motors, small boat electrical systems and step-down transformers. Maintenance and repair of four 1300 KW diesel generators and four Colt Pielstick propulsion plant generators, including generator speed controllers. Accounting and documentation of maintenance, material and manpower expended per job and analysis of reports for trends in equipment and job performance for improved results. Training, evaluation, and counseling of assigned personnel. Maintenance and repair of hotel service boiler including controller. Electrical Control Supervisor and ship’s service diesel generator operator

Major Accomplishments:

* Received Letters of Commendation for preparation of new generators for operation and servicing existing generators to provide a constant source of power for citizens of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; and repair/installation of electrical power distribution equipment at Army sites on St. Croix.Repeatedly commended for ability to coordinate group efforts, and as an outstanding manager and organizer. Devised means of tracking Personnel Qualifications on computer, which was adopted throughout the ship for all divisions
