Operations, Client Service Manager, Administrative

I am a competent, ambitious, project and task-oriented professional. I have worked in the transportation industry for many years where I’ve have at least 15 years management experience. I have earnestly executed my duties and responsibilities in the positions of Operations Manager, Dispatcher and Equipment Control Manager. Being Operations Manager, I was in charge of hiring and firing drivers, and working closely with dispatch and had a staff of no less than 2 clerks. In dispatching I worked directly with the drivers and monitored appointment times and chassis useage for billable units, vessel cuts on exports and last free days on imports.

In the containership industry I have been a Customer Service and Equipment Control Manager. In achieving a good reputation in this venue I made appointments with strict schedules. My responsibilities also included intermodal transportation for cost effective results for our customers. Overseeing export container moves to ensure arrival in time for a ship's departure. This critical duty involved tracking and monitoring truck and rail movements.  Representative major shippers that I worked with had as many as 100 containers moving on a specific vessel to meet rigid time restraints.

Customer Service is vital to a company's success and is an area where I excel. My professional acumen in "people oriented fields" of business has made me a professional in the proper way to handle sometimes precarious situations. I have the steadfast ability to "put out fires" and calm irate customers. Using common sense, professional experience, honesty, kindness and a degree of finesse, have helped sometimes-adverse parties accept and feel comfortable with the outcome of my "on-the-spot mediation." In today's "bottom line" it is critical that with the myriad of transportation companies (or any other commercial enterprise) that every possible consideration and/or solution to customers and potential customers be readily available with a dedicated professional immediately on hand. I believe that I am that person and my many years of competent work experiences have helped to make me a valuable asset in my multi-faceted career. I consider all my working experience to further highlight me as being a reliable, conscientious "team player”. I possess a positive attitude and a great sense of personal responsibility. You have in me a detail oriented, prospective candidate seeking a challenging position in a professional atmosphere in which I am appreciated and paid commensurately for my experience and professional talents.

In addition to my transportation background I worked with the North Carolina Health Department in Elizabeth City, NC doing inventory control of all the home health care nurses supplies for 5 counties, served as the safety liasion for maintaining and updating the MSDS information and preparing the safe and proper disposal of used needles and any other hazardous waste. Received a certificate in Medical Terminology and Medical Office Procedures from Wake Technical Community College, Raleigh, NC.
