This position is a Primary Alternate COMSEC Account Manager for the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Regional Account that provides technical support and administration for various systems i.e., KMI, Communications Security (COMSEC), Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) system, etc. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Assisting in identifying staff and Local Element (LE) commands' COMSEC requirements based upon operational requirements, types of communication systems installed, and higher authority directives. Serving as the Key Operating Account (KOA) Primary Alternate responsible for the accountability, issuance, destruction, and inventory of COMSEC material on a computerized management database using the National Security Agency (NSA) developed Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) system and resources, Common User Application Software (CUAS), COMSEC Management Workstation (CMWS), and Intermediary Application Laptop (iAPP). Maintaining accountability and signing for approximately 2000
cryptographic software/hardware Items which may be issued on sub-custody to other units. Analyzing and evaluating reports of COMSEC identifying compromises and incidents, prepare oral or written reports, decisions, conclusions or recommendations, and policy for remote Coast Guard and Navy Commands. Providing guidance to the local and remote command's Local Element (Issuing) Managers in the operation and administration of their respective COMSEC duties and responsibilities as outline within a Memorandum of Understanding and in accordance with current policy and directives. To qualify for the GS-09:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular abilities, skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes:
Experience using an Electronic Key Management system; Experience collecting and analyzing data related to security management systems in order to make decisions or recommendations regarding to system modifications or changes. Experience monitoring and coordinating simple, really simple and tactical key loaders. -OR- Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related -OR- Combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
