Intelligence Operations Specialist (Counterintelligence), GS-0132-13

You will serve as a Counterintelligence Agent CI), and Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) specialist and will be responsible for managing or executing various aspects of the CI and TSCM program. Typical work assignments include:
Planning and executing TSCM surveys, inspections, in-conference and in-place monitoring activities, pre-constructions services; developing technical threat vulnerability studies, TSCM briefings, and technical surveillance threat awareness presentations. Recommending security design and planning efforts to provide systems and solutions and initiating measures to correct security deficiencies. Conducting threat analysis and risk management processes to plan and conduct TSCM services. Providing technical guidance concerning the use of TSCM equipment to support CI operations and investigations in a continuing effort to protect classified national security information, critical infrastructure and facilities from compromise. Supporting multiple USCG activities and providing surge support to other CI Agents as well as training and briefings to USCG personnel. Participating in intra-and-inter agency planning or work groups and serving on committees that have national or international implications. You qualify for the GS-13 if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level performing such duties as:
Serving as an expert throughout the Intelligence Community (IC) on CI and TSCM matters; Planning, initiating, controlling, and evaluating complex and sensitive projects and programs related to counterintelligence. Must be a credentialed CI agent and a certified TSCM specialist. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
