Position
Summary:
Under general supervision, the Marine Tank Cleaning Technician performs a range of tasks required for marine tank cleaning to include but not limited to, environmental clean-up, tank cleaning, NAVSEA standard item/NFPA 306, pipeline maintenance and CHT acid flushing, in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of tank cleaning, excellent references, and the demonstrated ability to perform the following daily functions:
Perform physical labor associated with tank cleaning activities, environmental clean-up and other remediation services
Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear
Operate routinely used tools and equipment
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
Warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, building maintenance
Hazardous Waste Operations
## Job Requirements
Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
Must demonstrate general knowledge of operations and ability to safely operate assigned equipment
High school diploma or GED preferred
Shipboard tank cleaning experience, environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience a plus.
Technicians will work in on-site project locations which typically include shipboard, abandoned warehouses or buildings or outdoor areas. The work environment is usually dirty, dusty, noisy, contains hazardous or potentially hazardous substances or materials and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions. Work includes handling hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment. Must be willing to enter into and work in confined and dark spaces, as well as in small boats and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time. Applicant must be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends.
A pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam are required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
